Brookdale Awarded $10,000 PATH Scholarship to Help Students Stay on Track

Brookdale Community College has been selected as a 2025 Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship recipient through the Ellucian Foundation. The PATH Scholarship Program provides grants to higher education institutions worldwide to support students in continuing their education and achieving their goals.

Brookdale received $10,000, which will be distributed among 10 students to help cover essential expenses including tuition, housing, food, textbooks, and required academic supplies. The scholarship provides flexible, immediate support ensuring students can remain enrolled and focused on completing their educational goals.

The 2025 Brookdale PATH Scholarship recipients reflect the range of the College’s academic offerings, with students pursuing studies in fields such as history, automotive technology, business administration, nursing, electrical engineering, mathematics and computer science, architecture, and criminal justice.

“These students represent the determination, resilience, and ambition that define Brookdale,” said David M. Stout, Ph.D., president of Brookdale Community College. “The PATH Scholarship allows us to remove immediate financial barriers so our students can continue their education with confidence and momentum.”

For recipients like Sophia, the scholarship is life-changing. Living with a chronic autoimmune condition, she shared that Brookdale provided a supportive environment where she could thrive academically. With the assistance of the PATH Scholarship, she will be able to complete her final year without the added burden of rising medical expenses.

Students across the globe are working hard to stay enrolled, but too many continue to face financial barriers that put their progress at risk,” said Laura Ipsen, President and CEO of Ellucian. “The Ellucian Foundation’s PATH Scholarship Program is helping institutions reduce these barriers so more students can continue their academic journey with confidence.”

The PATH Scholarship is provided by the Ellucian Foundation, established in 2020 by Ellucian, the leading technology solutions provider for higher education. To date, the program has awarded more than $3.7 million to over 200 institutions, supporting more than 3,700 students worldwide.

“Even modest financial support can change the trajectory of a student’s academic journey,” said Jen Welding, Executive Director of the Ellucian Foundation. “By putting flexible funding directly into the hands of colleges, we enable them to quickly assist students whose education might otherwise be interrupted.”
