Brookdale Community College women’s volleyball earned major postseason recognition as standout freshmen Gemma Ferris and Bella McKelvey were each named to both the DIII All-GSAC Teams and the DIII All-Region Teams, following outstanding first-year performances. In addition, Head Coach Christian Williams was honored as the GSAC Coach of the Year, marking a tremendous season of accomplishment for the Jersey Blues.
Ferris, an outside hitter and Wall High School alum, was named to both the GSAC First Team and Region 19 First Team after a dominant season. She totaled 320 kills, 50 service aces, and 377 digs across 20 matches, delivering consistent production and establishing herself as one of the most reliable offensive and defensive forces on the court.
McKelvey, a setter from Brick Memorial High School, earned a spot on the GSAC Second Team and the Region 19 Second Team after compiling 75 kills, 691 assists, 66 service aces, and 303 digs over 20 matches. Her leadership, on-court vision, and ability to control the pace of play were essential to Brookdale’s competitive success.
With Ferris and McKelvey shining in their debut seasons—and Williams earning top coaching honors—the Jersey Blues closed the year with well-deserved recognition across the conference and region.
